CMCS is pleased to announce the third scheme participant, Qingdao Bioborn Packaging Co. Ltd (Qingdao). Qingdao has achieved certification for their compostable shopping bags and waste bags.
Qingdao’s bags passed the tests according to the EN 13432 standard and have been confirmed by the certification body to comply with the industrially compostable requirements. This product went through several critical tests at an approved laboratory and was assessed by the certification body, TÜV AUSTRIA, as complying with the CMCS requirements and underlying standard EN 13432.
This certification grants the company the right to claim that their products have been certified as suitable for industrial or commercial composting.
Georgia Phetmanh, Head of Certification Schemes Management at REAL said:
“We are very pleased to welcome Qingdao as the third participant of CMCS, having achieved certification for two different products simultaneously. Qingdao joins CMCS at an exciting time with the scheme continuing to grow in the UK, reflecting national and international interest.
Industrial compost producers in the UK will now be able to accept Qingdao’s products for composting with food waste and other organic waste materials.”
Kamiel Vanderlinden, General Manager at TÜV AUSTRIA said:
